What inspires you?
My children – my son Jimmy who, in his too short life, fought brain cancer for eight years, got admitted to Stanford, raised over $250,000 for LIVESTRONG and inspired so many with his quiet courage; and my daughter Molly who isn’t afraid to raise her voice on behalf of others, who doesn’t gives up on her dreams and who sees walls as an opportunity to show the world how much she wants something

How do you think other people describe you?
Empathetic, organized, interested in other people, willing to take chances

What do you like to do in your free time?
Go to Kaia FIT, run, hike/walk with our dog Buster, watch my daughter play softball, read, spend time with family and friends

What is your favorite food?
Linguini Con Pesto

What is your favorite restaurant?
Mikuni

What’s the most interesting thing about you that most people don’t know?
My father was 62 when I was born and lived to be 102½.

Amazon.com (I love to buy books)

What was your favorite TV show when growing up?
I Love Lucy

Can you play any instruments? If so, which ones?
I played piano for ten years but haven’t played in years

What is your superpower?
I am willing to raise my voice for what is right.

You find a lottery ticket that ends up winning $10 million. What would you do?
Work with Children’s Cancer Association to create an endowment fund to pay for the uncovered medical expenses of families whose children are fighting cancer. The fund would enable parents to take a leave or quit their jobs to be with their ill children, rather than force them to continue working in order to have health insurance. It would also ensure that when a child has finished treatment and/or passed away, families aren’t left in debt because of uncovered medical expenses.

Who is your female hero?
Regina Ellis, founder & CEO of Children’s Cancer Association

What charity(s) are you involved with?
Children’s Cancer Association; Bread of Life; Rotary Club of Sacramento

What local community change would you like to see?
An organized, active network of women of all ages and professions who help, support, mentor and inspire each other (thank you, for creating exactly that!)
