About Judy Daru

Born: Pennsylvania, married, two children.

College: Community College of San Francisco & Marin.  Graduated from: College of “Hard Knocks” and “Self Determination”.  (Also earned a blackbelt in negotiating from raising children)

1976 Started my career in Commercial Real Estate as an agent focusing on tax-deferred exchanges of apartment buildings.  Moved on to leasing, sales and development of office buildings.  Then on to leasing, sales and remodeling of retail buildings.  Have also leased, sold and developed warehouse buildings, developed residential lots, and “flipped” houses.  I have worked for some small independent brokerage houses and a large commercial brokerage house but have worked independently under my own Corporation since the late 1980’s.  Currently I am mostly managing my own portfolio of retail properties.

Widowed in 2012 and now happily remarried.  Enjoying traveling, pilates, gyrotonics, hiking/walking, and reading historical fiction, woman biographies and travel books.  I am a big fan of Ruth Bader Gingsburg, Eleanor Roosevelt and Peggy Guggenheim.

My interest in WomenUp is to help support women to succeed in business.
